Here are some things to help you before and during Basic Military Training (BMT). - Know your reporting statement (at the very minimum) - Teamwork is essential - Know your chain of command - Know the Airmen’s Creed - Know the Air Force Song - Know Air Force ranks (both enlisted & officers) - Know Air Force Core values - Recommend being at or close to the BMT PT graduation level before you go to BMT (always check with your doctor before exercising). The green card must have at least 6 months or more remaining before expiration. Applicants must be between the ages of 17 and must be in BMT before age 42 years old, must speak, read and write English fluently to apply to join the Air Force. The Air Force does not bring applicants to the United States to join. Can you qualify for this AFSC with no more than a high school diploma and a passing ASVAB score? It’s definitely going on my list if the Air Force is willing to train me from an entry level.
Also, I’ve sworn in to the delayed entry program, currently making an AFSC wish list from a sheet of careers I was given at MEPS. Despite ISR being on that sheet, I was told that some of the listed jobs require prior education before beginning training, and I’d like to know if this is one of them. I’d ask my recruiter about it, but he’s probably asleep. I’m trying to complete my list before Monday so I can ship to basic quickly. @@joeboi1342 You have significantly less job choices as an Officer, you don't even get to pick your job as an Officer. You have a wish list of the jobs you would LIKE to do, and then based on your ranking on an Order of Merit List that determines which of your choices you get (i.e. 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. choice).
I’m cross training from my job in the reserves to this in active duty. Grateful for the opportunity! So very excited!

The benefits of being an Officer are better pay (like 2 or 3x the salary of enlisted) and you enter the military already in a leadership position.
